SCGP

SCGP was yesterday evening and it was one of the best moments of my life.

I have finally graduated from SCS as a trained commander and soon I will be embarking on my next phase of my army life in guards as a section commander. It is going to be tougher than I can ever imagine it to be, but I am confident I will be able to survive GCC after all I've been through in Infantry Pro Term. I'll just heed my PC's advice to keep a positive mindset throughout and not let it break me but mould me instead. I'll also keep in mind my PWO's tips on how to lead men in unit, especially in a unit like guards which is mono intake. It's not going to be easy leading my 6 men, but it'll be one of the most fulfilling experiences any commander can get in his 2 years of NS.

I also received my first ever army award which is a Silver Bayonet. I felt really honoured to receive this award as it was a recognition of all the effort I put into pro term, but I knew that the ones that truly deserve the recognition are my supportive section mates that made pro term more bearable for me as each day passes on. Without them, I don't know how I was ever going to survive pro term. Come to think of it, I have come a long way in just 8 months of being in the army. On the first day of pro term I felt so depressed over being in infantry I was thinking of all sorts of ways to try and get out of course. But then after meeting my section mates and some of my platoon mates, I decided to strive on and found the motivation to excel. I don't know whether my section mates will read this, but I want to dedicate this post to them as I may never see some of them ever again.

FUR:
I always wondered why you were still so fucked up and lazy even after all of us nag at you to get your shit done. I now understand everything, and I am truly sorry for the times I've been really harsh on you or for being an asshole to you. I respect you for going through all this shit despite knowing that the inevitable will come eventually.

SILVER BAYO Wang:
You are damn UP THERE because you can speak very confidently to people and get shit done. It has been great knowing you and working with you, hope you'll enjoy your new slack posting haha. You've taught me that age doesn't matter in army for as long as you are going through the same shit as someone, you'll be able to understand each other despite having a big age gap. You are an understanding guy that I can confide in when I face any difficulties. Gonna miss those moments when we pushed our section mates on together esp in Taiwan :)

Cheese:

Thanks for being my pro term buddy and for supporting me whenever I am section commander no matter how tired you are :) everyday feels a little better in camp when you know there's someone who you can count on to cheer you up. The joy, laughter, sweat and pain that we went through together cannot be found in any other friendship that I ever had. 

Drugster:

You always say you want to Keng, but you've never done that before. Instead, you help all of us whenever we need help and also push on no matter how much you freaking hate the experience haha. and for that, I think you are the most determined guy in our section and that's really evident when we go outfield. You're also a great friend that I can confide in and your zero fucks given attitude is funny. But I know you truly care about your friends and you'd still train hard so that you won't sabo your section mates. 

Chinaman:

You're someone I can easily talk to and fool around with. We can talk about anything under the sun, from the most trivial bullshit like sick stuff to common personal experiences. I hope you'll train the recruits well in tekong and interact with them as much as you can! And don't throw your rifle at a recruit like someone else we all know :P

Auntie killer:

You're actually quite on about everything cause you're scared that you'll get screwed lol. I think you'll make a good bmt instructor cause you're damn guai lan. I'm sure all your recruits will fear you LOL. Don't seduce the aunties at tekong 

please haha. You've been a good friend that I can trust, I just hope you won't get easily angry/agitated sometimes. 

Kpop:

You're the one I like to make fun of and joke around with cause you're hilarious as hell despite being quite a reserved guy. I'm gonna miss cursing you everyday to go guards, irritating the shit out of you about your dick in the mouth accent and pestering you to add me on Facebook haha. I hope you'll lead the recruits in tekong well. Don't influence them to listen to kpop though. 

I wish I could write for all my platoon mates too but there's just too many of them and I'm not close to all of them. But I'm sure those who made an impact in my time in SCS will know who they are. The camaraderie and brotherhood that we had will always be treasured :D

I'm really glad that some of my friends and family took the time to come down and support me too!

gonna enjoy this weekend and pack my stuff in preparation for monday :) 

Pro Term is over

I'm finally back from Taiwan!

can't say what training we had there because it's supposed to be classified information and if I reveal anything I will get charged.

but those that talk to me personally will find out all the crazy shit I went through there.

and the best thing is finding out at the end of the last mission in Taiwan that all the effort I put in was worth it :) that made all the difference for this exercise.. it's going to be an interesting graduation parade when I finally get my 3SG rank!

will probably blog more next time, don't really feel like blogging now. plan to exercise more to build up my physical fitness after all that combat fitness training in taiwan.
